There has been a strong focus on mindfulness (a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique) You might be familiar with some of the more traditional techniques such as focused breathing, or meditation. Newer techniques which have gained recent attention include mindful colouring in aimed at adults.

With most of us being time poor, it is important that we incorporate these mindfulness techniques into our daily activities. Some activities to consider are sewing, cooking, knitting, card making, and other crafting activities. Take a closer look at the activities that you perform each day without thinking. Simple essential activities such as eating or brushing your teeth can incorporate mindfulness. Even taking the time to massage, either your growing belly, or baby can be done using mindful techniques. Eating mindfully has also been shown to help digestion, and avoid weight gain.
